We are delighted to announce that further formal approval has been granted by the NHS Essex ICB to progress with the highly anticipated development of the new Hedingham Medical Centre. This new medical centre is part of a collaborative effort between OneMedical Property, Hedingham Medical Centre, NHS Essex Integrated Care Board, Braintree District Council, and local residents and community groups. Together, we have worked to design a building that not only meets the current needs of the community but is also adaptable for future growth.

Tom Abell, Chief Executive of NHS Essex, said: “I am delighted that we have approved the development of the new Hedingham Medical Centre, which will provide better care for people who live in Sible, Castle Hedingham and the neighbouring villages. This forms part of our mission to make health services better in Essex and I look forward to seeing the building in operation.”

Dr Caroline Davies, Dr Steven Gresham and Dr Jessica Gell, said “Hedingham Medical Centre is delighted that plans for our new surgery have now been approved. This is exciting news for our patients and staff, as it will help future-proof the provision of healthcare across the Hedinghams and the surrounding villages. The new facility will enable Hedingham Medical Centre to meet the growing demand for healthcare services to be delivered locally, while also bringing all services together on one modern, purpose-built site. This has been a long process, and we would like to thank One Medical and NHS Essex ICB for their continued support throughout. We look forward to working closely with them to create an outstanding healthcare facility for the whole community.”

OneMedical Property, said: “We are delighted that we have been given the approval from NHS Essex ICB to progress with the Hedingham Medical Centre development. This is a project we are deeply committed to, and having already secured planning permission and completed the land title transfer from Braintree District Council to OneMedical Property, we have a solid foundation to move forward. Our next priority is to re-engage with our specialist design team to revise the delivery programme and ensure we reach the construction phase as efficiently as possible.”

Cllr Kevin Bowers, Cabinet Member for Finance, Resources and Performance at Braintree District Council, said: “We’re pleased to have played our part in supporting the delivery of this important healthcare facility and look forward to OneMedical Property and the NHS Essex ICB taking it forward to completion. We know how important good healthcare
facilities and services are to residents and the delivery of a centre which meets modern standards will benefit patients and the local community for many years to come.”
